How to use this course

1. Watch the videos

On enrollment you will automatically receive access to a selection of video content that provides you with the foundational information and tools to get your digital parenting on track. Each module's content will be broken down into manageable chunks - you can listen in one session or gradually throughout at a time convenient to you.

It will likely take you an hour or so per module to listen to the content. Choose between watching it as a video or listening on the go as an audio if you're short on time.

While all the content will be there for you to catch up on or revise at any time, it is important that you try your best to watch the videos in Modules 1-3 before our first scheduled Zoom call, so that you can get the most out of each group Zoom session.

2. Do your homework

To accompany the videos and help you to apply your new knowledge, there will be activities to complete with each module in advance of our group sessions. Any handouts and resources accompanying each module can be read or used online or downloaded and print off.

3. Connect with others

We will meet as a group six times during the 12 week course duration on specific Thursdays at 12:30pm (AEDT NSW time) (see below for dates) to share our reflections, our wins, and work through the challenges we have faced during the program so far. We will plan together for moving ahead, lend a listening ear, and offer support.

A private Facebook group, exclusive to this course cohort has been set up - you can find instructions on how to join in the next section. This is where I'll add additional links, resources, articles etc and we can generate further discussions and support. This Facebook group will accumulate past participants of this course and grow to become a larger brains' trust over time.

Practical Matters

Zoom: You will receive the details of the Zoom invites in your Welcome Email. Add this to your personal calendars and set reminders in a way that works for you. I will also post the Zoom invitation in the Facebook group and send an email reminder before each session.

You don’t necessarily have to have downloaded the Zoom app to your device in order to join the call - just click the link. However, it may be easier if you do already have the app downloaded.

If you haven’t used Zoom before, please make sure you leave plenty of time to make sure it’s working ahead of our call. You can access instructions to do so
here.

Email: Please don't choose to 'opt out of emails' in Teachable. If you do, any additional emails that may be important, which I send through Teachable won't arrive! If you have opted out, don’t worry, you can go into your Teachable settings and change it back to ‘opt into emails’.

Materials: We recommend that you buy a notebook to keep notes, record your reflections and track changes in your and your young person's behaviours over time. A wall calendar (or something similar) will also be a useful tool as we get to the planning stages!
